The vertebral artery originates from the subclavian artery just before the origin of internal mammarian artery and, the most common lesion of the vertebral artery is an atheromatous plaque located at its origin from the subclavian artery. This circumstance may cause diverse angina and neurological symptoms including vertigo, ataxia, visual disturbance and cerebral ischemia. Therefore, surgical reconstruction of the subclavian artery and vertebral artery should be done to relieve symptoms of ischemia. We present a patient who underwent vertebral artery transposition to thyrocervical artery concomitant with carotico-subclavian saphenous bypass due to subclavian artery and vertebral artery stenosis. A Case Report of Coronary-Subclavian Steal Syndrome Treated with Carotid to Axillary Artery Bypass
Coronary-subclavian steal syndrome results from atherosclerotic disease of the proximal subclavian artery causing reversal of flow in an internal mammary artery used as conduit for coronary artery bypass. This rare complication of cardiac revascularisation leads to recurrence of myocardial ischaemia. When feasible, subclavian angioplasty and/or stent placement can provide acceptable result for ...
متن کاملA hybrid operation in a patient with complex right subclavian artery aneurysm
We report a hybrid surgery including endovascular aneurysm repair and debranching procedures to treat a patient with a complex right subclavian artery aneurysm. The patient was a 70-year-old woman who presented with dry cough and hoarseness. The aneurysm was characterized by the absence of a proximal neck, and involvement of the origin of the right vertebral artery. She underwent carotid-verteb...
متن کاملRight subclavian steal syndrome in a patient with aberrant right subclavian artery, common carotid trunk and hypoplastic left vertebral artery
Introduction: Subclavian steal syndrome refers to the reversal of vertebral blood flow in the setting of proximal subclavian or innominate artery severe stenosis or occlusion resulting in the symptoms of vertebrobasilar insufficiency related to exercise of the upper extremities. It is more common on the left side. Case report: We reported a case of subclavian steal syndrome on the right side in...

Subclavian steal syndrome is known as reverse flow from vertebral artery to subclavian artery due to occlusion of proximal subclavian artery. Occlusive process leading to syndrome is common in left subclavian artery. Coronary-subclavian steal syndrome may happen by reverse flow in left internal thoracic artery with occlusion in subclavian artery of patients who were performed coronary artery by...
متن کاملAn unusual cause of ischemia after coronary bypass grafting!!
Coronary subclavian steal syndrome is an uncommon cause of ischemia recurrence after coronary artery bypass grafting. Endovascular treatment of subclavian artery stenosis or occlusion is increasingly common and appears to offer a safe and effective alternative to surgical revascularization. We report a case of recurrent angina after coronary artery bypass grafting for critical subclavian artery...
